From November 1, 2020 The moon sets at sunrise above a Saguaro Cactus in the McDowell Mountain Preserve, Scottsdale, Arizona. The Saguaro is native to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, the Mexican state of Sonora and the Whipple Mountains and Imperial County areas of California. They can grow up to 52 feet tall and 30 inches in diameter, with as many as 50 arms. Slow growing, they routinely live 150-200 years. It may take as many as 50 years to reach a height of 3 feet.
Cutting down or destroying a Saguaro is considered a felony and can result in up to 25 years in prison. Stealing a Saguaro may result in $150,000 fine and up to five years in prison. #Saguaro #McDowellMountainPreserve #ScottsdaleArizona #Moonset #Sunrise
