 Buckingham Fountain - Chicago Illinois (July 29, 2011) The Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain was designed by Edward H. Bennett in a style reminiscent of the Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles. Built at a cost of $750,000 it was dedicated in 1927 and donated to the city of Chicago by Kate S. Buckingham. Portland Head Light is at the entrance to the main shipping channel into Portland Harbor which is within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. What was once the lighthouse keepers' house is now a maritime museum situated in Fort Williams Park.
George Washington directed construction to begin in 1787. Whale oil lamps were first used for illumination. Goldwater Lake in the Prescott National Forest - Named after Barry Goldwater. Goldwater was a Major General in the United States Army serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was only the 2nd Republican in Arizona to be elected to the Senate where he served from 953 to 1965, then again from 1968 to 1987. He was the Republican nominee for President in 1964, losing to LBJ.
