 LaSalle Street in Chicago looking south to the Chicago Board of Trade. Built in 1930, the building was the tallest in Chicago until the Richard J Daley building was erected in 1965. It is a National Historic Landmark. The commodity exchange it houses was originally established in 1848 to trade in agricultural commodities. If you look closely, you will see a figure at the top of the building. It is Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture sculpted by John H. Storrs.
