October 30, 2022 Puerto Vallarta celebrates el Dia del los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in grand fashion on the Malecon. If you have an opportunity to visit Puerto Vallarta during the celebration, do it. The holiday (typically celebrated on November 1 or 2) involves family and friends paying respects and remembering those who have died.

On the shores of Lake Michigan, the Kenosha Light Station was established in 1856. The current light was built in 1906 and stands 50 feet tall. The lighthouse was deemed excess by the Coast Guard in 2008 and was purchased by Heather McGee and John Burhani in 2011.
