The moon rises over Navy Pier in Chicago. Originally named Municipal Pier, the design by Charles Summer Frost was based on the 1909 Plan of Chicago by Daniel Burnham. It was renamed Navy Pier in 1927 to honor World War I Navy Veterans. In 194 the Pier was used by the Navy for training. It is purported that President Bush trained there.
Navy Pier is the 2nd most visited tourist stop in Chicago, attracting over nine million visitors a year. #NavyPier #Chicago #Moonrise #LakeMichigan
