Hanalei Pier

Originally constructed in 1892 of wood, the pair was lengthened to 340 feet in 1912 and in 1922 was reconstructed with concrete. The shed roof was added in the 1940's.Hurricane Iniki destroyed the roof in 1992. "Save the Pier" through the Hanalei Rotary raised over $170k ti restore the pier by 2013. Hanalei Pier is featured in the movies Beachhead (1954) and South Pacific (1957) and in September 1979 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. #Kauai #HanaleiPier #Hawaii
