Countersurfing the Peach Pit

The boys love sharing fruit. Berries, banana, apple, watermelon, cantaloupe and pineapple are things we share just about every day. On Wednesday this week we decided to try peaches. They loved them. We finished eating and a few minutes later I heard one of the pups crunching on something. CJ (pictured above), our resident counter surfer , had grabbed the peach pit which I thought I had put far enough in the center of the counter had grabbed it and ate it. An immediate call to @GraniteMountainVeterinaryhospital and was able to get him right in. Peach pits (as well as most fruit with cores and seeds) are not only toxic for pets but could cause abdominal issues requiring surgery to remove. Luckily they caught it in time and were able to get CJ to puke the pit (and the rest of the fruit and other food - they said it looked like a fruit smoothie -  he had for breakfast).
