January 26, 1915 President Woodrow Wilson establishes Rocky Mountain National Park Picture from October 2015 Bear Lake sits in front of Hallett Peak in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Located on the Continental Divide within the Rocky Mountain National Park, Hallett Peak is a 12,720 foot peak named for William Hallett (1856-1947) a mountain climber and one of the founders of the Rocky Mountain Club.
