Roosevelt Lake Bridge
Picture from January 2015 Opened in 1992, the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge is the longest 2 lane, single span. Steel-arch bridge in North America. It was built to relieve congestion of traffic in Arizona State route 188 which was located atop the Lake Roosevelt Dam. The Roosevelt Dam route was designed to accommodate the width of 2 Model T autos. As vehicle widths expanded, that road was limited to 1 way traffic until the new bridge opened. The American Consulting Engineers list the bridge as one of the top 12 bridge designs in the United States. The steel from the bridge was repurposed from the Washington Street elevated in Boston when it was torn down in 1987. #RooseveltLakeBridge #RooseveltLake #Arizona #AmericanConsultingEngineers #VisitArizona
