Grandview Point
Grandview Point just after sunrise Sunday January 18, 2026. Located towards the east end of the Grand Canyon National Park at a 7,400 foot elevation. Best known (well I didn’t know that until now) as the site of the 1890’s Grandview Hotel. Serving as a copper mining hub for copper mining on Horseshoe Mesa, the hotel was built by Pete Berry. The hotel was closed (and no longer exists) in 1929 after the 1903 opening of the El Tovar Hotel.
