The Colorado River can be seen from just off the Desert View Watch Tower, the eastern most point at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The Watch Tower, built in 1932 was designed by Mary Colter and was influenced by Puebloean people of the Colorado Plateau. This is one of my favorite spots at the Grand Canyon South Rim. The Watch Tower is located 23 miles east of the Grand Canyon Village on Highway 64. It is the first stop if you enter the park from the east entrance off of State Route 89 near Cameron. I highly recommend you visit this spot when at the Grand Canyon. To the right of the tower is a spot where you can hike down for better views of the Colorado River and the interior of the canyon. #DesertViewWatchTower #DesertView #GrandCanyonNationalPark #ColoradoRiver #SouthRim #GrandCanyon
