 As seen from my flight from Phoenix, the William E. Dever Crib on Lake Michigan off the North Avenue Beach on a frigid February morning in Chicago.
One of two remaining active water cribs providing drinking water to the City of Chicago. Water is collected in the structures which transport water in tunnels close to 200 feet below the surface to pumping stations located on shore, then to the world's 2 largest water purification plants where the water is treated then pumped to the city as well as 118 suburbs. There had been a total of nine cribs of which Dever is one of the two remaining active cribs. William E Dever was the 42 mayor of Chicago serving one term from 1923-1927. We said goodbye to the best dog ever today. Wrigley Riggs was such a good, smart dog. You couldn't stop playing fetch with him, and if you tried, he would put the ball, stick or toy closer to you and stare at you with those loving eyes. On land or water wouldn't stop. He loved people and of course would coerce anyone into "just one more throw" please......... Him and Cubby are back together. I hope he sits on Cubby Rizzo's head just for payback. #LabradorRetriever #WrigleyRiggs #SayingGoodbye #Adogslife #Fetch #ForLoveofadog  The first couple of days in March 2023 saw over a foot of snow fall in parts of Prescott, Arizona. It has been an awfully dry winter so far and a snow like this would certainly help. At this point a white Valentine's Day (or any day) would be welcome.
