Willow Lake and the Granite Dells obscured by a cloud inversion with the San Francisco Peaks rising in the background in all their snow capped glory.
#PrescottArizona #GraniteDells #CloudInversion #SnowCappedMountains #SanFranciscoPeaks #Arizona A view of Cathedral Rock from the Red Rock Crossing Trail. The Red Rock Crossing Trail is a 1/2 mile trail located off the Baldwin Loop Trail that leads to Oak Creek. The Baldwin Trail is accessed on Verde Valley School Road and also will connect you to the Cathedral Rock Trail.

We enjoy listening to live music, especially outdoors in beautiful weather. If you are in Maui, I believe Pailolo has live music during the week. DON'T FORGET TO TIP THE PERFORMERS. See below for a short video clip and an additional photo of Tanaka and Mansano. #Maui #LiveMusic #EddieTanaka #BrianMansano #PailoloBarandGrill #WestinKaanapaliOceanResort #Sunset Picture from 2017
Our yellow Labrador Wrigley trying to keep the young pup Cubby in line on Little Horse Trail in Sedona, Arizona with Cathedral Rock in the background. Cubby was a white Lab when the hike started. He quickly got dyed Sedona Red on his first Sedona hike. #LabradorRetriever #Hiking #HikeSedona #LittleHorseTrail #SedonaArizona #Cathedral Rock Picture from 2016
The Airport Loop Trail (211) Sedona Arizona. There are some nice views on this moderately challenging 3-1/2 mile trail that circles the Sedona Airport. Not too much shade on this trail. While you are at it why not take a helicopter ride from one of the tour companies at the airport. There is even an opportunity for a door off tour. #AirportLoopTrail #SedonaArizona #SedonaHiking #RedRockCountry #SedonnaAirport Picture from 2016
Doe Mountain Trail #60 in Sedona is a 1.4 mile up and back switchbacked trail that climbs 400 feet to offer outstanding views of Red Rock Country. But don't stop at the top and go down right away. Take time to stroll around the 1.3 mile mesa top to enjoy the views. Maybe pack a lunch, or just sit and take in the serenity of Sedona. From the top you can Bear, Maroon, and Wilson mountains, Loy, Boynton, and Secret Canyons, and Chimney Rock. Sedona is visible to the east and off to the south, Munds Mountain and Sycamore Pass mark the location of Sycamore Canyon and the Verde Valley. #DoeMountain #Sedona #HikeSedona #RedRockCountry ![]() Pictures from 2015 and 2018 A view from underneath Devil’s Bridge, Sedona Arizona. Trail 120, Devil’s Bridge takes you to the largest natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. The trail itself is about 2 miles round trip with a 400 foot elevation gain….from the trailhead. However, to get to the trailhead, which has limited parking, you will need a high clearance 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate Forest Road 152. An additional image from below and one from above follow. It is about 54 feet from the top of the bridge to the canyon below should you fall. Before Covid and the Instagram famous days, Devil’s Bridge was a great place to hike, admire the beauty and tranquility of Sedona without a lot of noise and distractions. In fact, on my first hike to the bridge in 2007, I encountered no others until I was almost back at the trailhead. There were no lines of people waiting to get their picture taken on the bridge. No constant buzz of people or their music. I am glad (and sad) that people have discovered Sedona and this trail. Glad, because people are out in nature, getting exercise and seeing the beauty of this world. Sad because many of these people don’t realize what it is about Sedona that caused me to find this place so appealing almost 20 years ago. Because they are so intent on that “instagramfamous” photo, they miss the beauty of the hike along the way. It is the journey, not so much the destination that make Sedona what it is. There are over 250 trail in Sedona, most have just a beautiful views as Devil’s Bridge. While I hope you get a chance to see the beauty of this hike, I hope more that you discover some of the lesser know hikes so you too can enjoy the peacefulness of this spiritual place. #DevilsBridge #Trail120DevilsBridge #SedonaArizona #HikeSedona #Hiking #SandstoneArch #ForestRoad152 Picture from 2020

January 21st was Squirrel Appreciation Day. A Rock Squirrel eats berries off a bush just off the walkway in the Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim. I took this picture from a safe distance with a zoom lens. It is reported that more people visit the emergency room from Squirrel attacks than any other animal in the Grand Canyon. This is due to people thinking that feeding these "cute" creatures is something noble, despite signs posted to keep their distance and not feed them. So appreciate the squirrel from afar an by no means try to feed them or pet them. #RockSquirrel #GrandCanyon #DONTFEEDTHEWILDANIMALS |
